Why We Recommend This Resource

The Iowa Department for the Blind should be one of the first resources an Iowa resident contacts after experiencing significant vision loss. Because IDB specializes in blindness rather than disabilities generally, it can connect individuals with counselors and instructors who understand Braille, cane travel, accessible technology, independent living, employment, and adjustment to blindness.
