DVI Vocational Rehabilitation Program

About

The Division for the Visually Impaired provides specialized vocational rehabilitation services for Delaware residents with qualifying visual impairments.

Services are individualized according to each participant’s abilities, interests, disability-related needs, and employment goals.

A person does not have to be unemployed to receive vocational rehabilitation assistance. DVI may also assist individuals who need services to maintain their current employment or advance in their careers.

• Vocational assessments
• Training and certifications
• College or vocational education assistance
• Job-readiness training
• Assistive technology evaluations
• Assistive technology training
• Job-search assistance
• Job-placement services
• Workplace accommodations
• Orientation and mobility
• Job-retention assistance
• Supported employment
• Transition services
• Pre-employment transition services for students

Who They Serve

Individuals may qualify when they:

• Have a documented visual impairment or legal blindness
• Experience a significant barrier to employment because of the visual impairment
• Need vocational rehabilitation services to prepare for, obtain, perform, maintain, or advance in employment

Eligibility is determined by DVI.
