The Arizona Technology Access Program, commonly called AzTAP, is Arizona’s Assistive Technology Act Program.
AzTAP helps people learn about assistive technology, compare devices, borrow equipment for short-term trials, and make informed decisions before purchasing or obtaining technology.
The program operates through Northern Arizona University’s Institute for Human Development.
AzTAP serves people with disabilities of all ages, family members, caregivers, educators, employers, rehabilitation professionals, service providers, and members of the public seeking assistive-technology information.
AzTAP offers demonstrations that allow individuals to compare assistive-technology options and learn how different devices work. Demonstrations may be available at the program’s Phoenix location, virtually, or in certain circumstances at a person’s home or residence.
Arizona residents may be able to borrow assistive-technology devices for a limited trial period. The equipment can be tested at home, school, work, or community locations, allowing individuals to determine whether a device meets their needs before purchasing it or requesting funding.
