Alabama — Statewide Vocational Rehabilitation Program
Blind and Low-Vision Services is part of the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services’ Vocational Rehabilitation Service Blind and Deaf Program.
The program provides specialized employment, education, rehabilitation and independent-living assistance to eligible Alabamians who are blind or visually impaired. Services are based on each person’s individual goals, needs and eligibility.
The program serves eligible Alabama residents who are blind or visually impaired and need assistance preparing for, obtaining, maintaining or advancing in employment.
Some specialized programs also serve older adults and students transitioning from school to employment or postsecondary education.
