Centers for Independent Living, commonly called CILs, are community-based, consumer-controlled, cross-disability, nonresidential organizations.
They are not assisted-living facilities or residential homes. Instead, they help people with disabilities identify and pursue their own independent-living goals.
Colorado has nine Centers for Independent Living serving different counties and communities.
Individual centers may also assist with:
People of all ages and with all types of disabilities, including people who are blind or visually impaired.
Programs and service areas vary by center.
