FreedomTech is an alternative-financing program designed to help Californians with disabilities purchase assistive technology.
The program offers financial loans rather than grants. Applicants must satisfy the program’s current eligibility, application, credit, and repayment requirements.
Subject to current program rules, financing may be available for vision-related assistive technology, hearing technology, communication devices, mobility equipment, accessible computers and software, vehicle modifications, home accessibility modifications, adaptive equipment, other qualifying assistive technology, and approved services related to the technology. Visitors should review the current program information to determine which products, modifications, and services qualify.
California residents with disabilities seeking financing for qualifying assistive technology or accessibility needs. A family member, guardian, or another individual may be permitted to apply on behalf of a person with a disability, subject to current program rules.
