Carmen Diaz is a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI) with 15 years of experience empowering children and young adults who are blind or visually impaired to reach their full potential. As a legally blind professional herself, Carmen brings both personal insight and professional expertise to every mentoring relationship, offering practical guidance, encouragement, and a genuine understanding of the challenges and opportunities that come with living with vision loss.
Throughout her career, Carmen has specialized in braille literacy, assistive technology, accessibility, independent living skills, and educational advocacy. She is passionate about helping students build confidence, develop independence, and gain the skills they need to succeed in school, the workplace, and everyday life.
Beyond the classroom, Carmen is committed to mentoring individuals and families as they navigate life with visual impairment. She believes that blindness should never define a person’s future and that, with the right support, expectations, and opportunities, every individual can build a meaningful and successful life.
Through True Vision Mentoring, Carmen looks forward to encouraging others, sharing practical strategies, and helping people discover the confidence to pursue their goals with purpose and determination.
