Idaho Assistive Technology Project

The Idaho Assistive Technology Project connects people with assistive technology for living, learning, working, and participating more independently in their communities.

About

The Idaho Assistive Technology Project, commonly called IATP, is Idaho’s federally funded Assistive Technology Act program. It operates through the Idaho Center on Disabilities and Human Development at the University of Idaho. IATP serves people with disabilities and older Idahoans throughout the state and helps people identify assistive technology that may increase independence. The program maintains five Assistive Technology Resource Centers across Idaho.

Why We Recommend This Resource

Assistive technology can be expensive, and purchasing equipment without knowing whether it meets someone’s needs can result in wasted money. IATP gives Idahoans an opportunity to learn about technology, receive assistance identifying appropriate equipment, and test or borrow devices through its statewide resource centers.
