The Assistive Technology Resource Centers of Hawaii, commonly called ATRC, works to increase access to assistive technology for people with disabilities throughout Hawaii.
ATRC provides opportunities to explore assistive technology before making decisions about equipment.
Its programs include short-term device borrowing and access to refurbished assistive technology when equipment is available.

Device Loan Program
People can borrow available assistive technology for short-term use.
Current ATRC information indicates that devices may generally be borrowed for up to six weeks.
This can allow someone to test equipment in everyday situations before deciding whether it meets their needs.
Refurbished Equipment
ATRC also provides access to donated and refurbished equipment when available.
Unlike borrowed equipment, approved refurbished devices provided through this program may be kept by the recipient.
Availability depends on current inventory.
Cost
ATRC states that its device borrowing and refurbished-equipment services are provided at no cost.
ATRC does not sell the equipment offered through these programs.
